Office of Housing & Social Services

It is the aim of the Office of Housing & Social Services to provide Perth Amboy residents with information, referral services and serve as a liaison for those seeking assistance with particular social service or housing needs or concerns. 

Our housing goals include encouraging and maintaining homeownership, and  improving conditions of our current housing stock.

Our social service goal is to assist with improving the quality of life for our residents by providing coordination of events and referral services to organizations and individuals.

The Office of Housing & Social Services administers two housing programs funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership. Both programs are designed primarily to benefit low to moderate income households, qualifications vary but are mainly set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
