Basketball Court Improvements in Perth Amboy

Overview

The City of Perth Amboy is excited to announce the commencement of Phase II of basketball court improvements in two key areas: Patten Center Park and Columbus Circle Park. This project is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance recreational facilities and provide better amenities for our residents.

Project Details

Patten Center Park

Start Date: On or about Monday, July 29th, 2024
Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (weather dependent)

Project Scope:

  • Removal of the existing basketball court
  • Full replacement with a post-tension concrete base system
  • Setting up a construction equipment and material entrance from Dorsey Street
  • Installation of temporary safety fencing around the project area
  • Demolition of the existing court

Residents may notice colored paint and flags on the lawn, sidewalk, and roadway. These marks indicate underground utilities. Please do not remove these flags or marks.

Limited Access: During the construction period, access to certain areas of Patten Center Park will be restricted. We ask residents to respect the safety barriers and avoid the construction zones for their safety.

Columbus Circle Park

Start Date: On or about Monday, July 29th, 2024
Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (weather dependent)

Project Scope:

  • Removal of the existing basketball court
  • Full replacement with a post-tension concrete base system
  • Removal of pavers on the north side of the park to allow contractor site access
  • Re-installation of pavers to original condition post-construction

Contractor and Oversight

The construction activities will be carried out by Seacoast Construction Inc., based in East Brunswick, NJ. CME Associates, the Township’s Consulting Engineer, will have representatives on-site during construction.
