WELCOME TO THE BIKESHARE PROGRAM!
The City of Perth Amboy's Bikeshare Program is a FREE convenient and eco-friendly way to explore the city at your own pace. With easy-to-use station located at the PERTH AMBOY HARBORSIDE MARINA (300 FRONT STREET) next to the Historic Ferry Slip, you can grab a bike whenever you need one and return it when you're done.
Read on to learn how to use our bikeshare program and make the most of your riding experience.
This program is made possible through the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District and the City of Perth Amboy.
1. Registering for an Account:
To get started, you'll need to create an account through the ON BIKESHARE APP either through the App Store or Google Play Store.
Once the App is installed, it will prompt you to 'JOIN SYSTEM.'
Type in 'PERTH AMBOY' and select it from the list.
Provide the required personal information, including your name, contact details, read and accept the waiver information. YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE TO USE THE CITY OF PERTH AMBOY'S BIKESHARE PROGRAM. Once your account is set up, you're ready to go!
2. Unlocking a Bike:
Once your registration is approved, the App will show an AVAILABLE BIKES button at the bottom of the screen.
To Checkout a Bike, go to the bike station and, within App, press AVAILABLE BIKES.
Press RIDE for the bike you want to use. The App will unlock the bike from the rack.
Enter the bike number manually in the app or at the station's kiosk. The lock will automatically release, allowing you to start your ride.
The bike lock will BEEP when it unlocks. You have 7 seconds to remove the bike from the rack.
3. Riding Safely:
Before you set off, ensure your bike is in good condition. Check the brakes, tires, and gears. there is a convenient pump station next to bike rack. Adjust the seat height if needed. Remember to wear a helmet for your safety, especially on longer rides. Follow all traffic rules and signals, and be mindful of pedestrians and other cyclists sharing the road.
4. Enjoying Your Ride:
With our bikeshare program, you have the freedom to explore the city at your own pace. Cruise through parks, visit our business district and historic sites.
5. Returning the Bike:
When you're ready to return the bike, roll the bike up to the rack and secure the lock to the rack pin. PULL BACK on the bike to confirm it is secured to the rack.
6. Additional Information:
- Our bikeshare program operates from
SUNRISE TO SUNSET, so please check the ON Bikeshare app
- If you encounter any issues during your ride, such as a malfunctioning bike or a flat tire, report it through the app or contact the Office of Recreation at (732) 442-4000
