Purchasing Department

Welcome to the City of Perth Amboy Purchasing Division. Our goal is to assure uniformity of purchasing procedures while promptly providing the highest quality of goods and services needed by all City Departments at the lowest possible price and in compliance with the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, the Pay to Play Laws, and local executive orders. We strive to familiarize vendors with the procedures and responsibilities for purchasing goods and services under the above-referenced laws.

We are committed to transparency in this process and maintain the highest standards of expertise in public procurement.

Member with the Governmental Purchasing Association of New Jersey,  Northern New Jersey National Institute of Governmental Purchasing - Chapter 7, and the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing – National Member.  

We are members of the following:
  • Local Coops: Cranford, Middlesex County, Somerset County, Passaic County, North Jersey Wastewater Cooperative Pricing System, and ESCNJ
  • National Coops: HGAC, Omnia, Keystone, NCPA, TIPS, and Sourcewell
We are registered members of the SAM Government Contracting system and NJ START. 
We also have a Shared Service Agreement for purchasing gasoline & diesel, and rock salt with the Perth Amboy Board of Education.
