The Department of Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement is responsible for the prevention, detection, investigation and enforcement of violations of statutes or ordinances regulating public health, safety, and welfare, business activities and consumer protection, building standards, land-use, or municipal affairs. Code Enforcement (Electrical, Plumbing, Building and Housing) Inspectors are ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and permits in a proper, timely fashion within the limits of the law.
The Department of Code works has improved communication, response time, procedures and departmental coordination. We have organized our department to strategically plan for both commercial and residential safety and growth. Most importantly, they have worked to care for our community by placing safety first when enforcing state statues and city code for better living.
