Hailey V. Cruz, Council Member

A proud graduate of the Perth Amboy Public School System, Hailey Cruz represents the future of the City of Perth Amboy. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Hailey is a well-known educational professional in the school system, serving as a School Counselor at the Dual Language School and receiving the 2020-2021 Governor Educator of the Year Award. As a passionate supporter of educational policy, Hailey brought her talent as Valedictorian of her class at Kean University to Perth Amboy, where she earned her master’s degree in School Counseling, had the opportunity to teach English abroad to students in Wenzhou, China, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate.

Looking to get more involved in the community, Hailey previously served as a member of the Perth Amboy County Committee and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Board Recording Secretary, where she focuses on ensuring innovative development. Moreover, Hailey is a proud American Federation of Teacher Union member and an AFL-CIO Labor Candidate School program graduate.
