Earth Day Clean-Up Event - Join Us in Making a Difference!

Join us for a community-wide clean-up effort on Saturday, April 20th, on Earth Day. This effort aims to beautify our city and foster community spirit. JOIN US!

Date & Time: 

• Primary Date: April 20th, 9 AM - 12 PM
• Rain Date: April 27th, 9 AM - 12 PM

Locations & Activities:

Our clean-up event is spread across four key locations:

• Patten Park (339 Reade Street): A focus area for school sports groups, with a special Shred Truck for document disposal.
• Washington Park (660 New Brunswick Ave): Led by our dedicated Green Team.
• Portuguese Sporting Club Lot (782 State Street): Engage with the Youth Alliance in their clean-up efforts.
• Brighton Avenue Community Center (56 Brighton Avenue): Team members from Target will take the lead in cleaning up this area.

Participants:

This event is a collaborative effort involving:

• Local school groups
• The Green Team
• Youth Alliance
• Target Employees
• Community Aid Grant recipients, including non-profits and houses of worship

Special Features:

• Food and Refreshments: Enjoy snacks from local favorites

• Supplies: Participants will receive Mayor Wellness Campaign shirts and water, courtesy of the Mayor's Office.

Communication:

Look out for our flyers and join the effort by signing up early!

Schedule:

• 9 AM: Volunteers arrive at designated locations.
• 10 AM: Clean-up activities begin.
• 12 PM: Join us for celebration activities at each location following the clean-up.

Additional Participation:

Various local organizations, including the Human Services, Fire and Police Departments, Library, EPA, and more, will participate, making it a community event like no other. Faith-based and community organizations are also encouraged to host clean-up efforts in their respective areas.
