Proclamation Presentation, April 11th

On March 18, 2022, the City of Perth Amboy’s Office on Aging member, Rosemary Crist, demonstrated bravery and heroism when she took action in a life-threatening situation by responding quickly by performing the Heimlich maneuver technique that saved his life. Click here for photo.

Education and Sharing Day, April 12th

April 12th marks the 120th birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Scheerson. 'The Rebbe' as he was known, is a leader of leaders; he is the foremost spiritual leader of our generation. To celebrate the Rebbe's achievements, the City of Perth Amboy and Mayor Helmin J. Caba joined public officials to recognize Education and Sharing Day. Pictured are Mayor Caba, Sruli Richler, CEO of the Surplus Company, and colleagues.

Earth Day CleanUp, April 16th

The City of Perth Amboy in partnership with the the Jewish Renaissance Foundation, Perth Amboy Business Improvement District, Perth Amboy Fire and Police Department, P.A.R.T.N.E.R., Target, AT&T First Net, Raritan Bay Area YMCA, ETC Management, AARP NJ, and the International Union Elevator Constructors Local One of New York and New Jersey, hosted a city-wide cleanup at 5 locations with over 170 volunteers that included Girls Scouts Troop 80714, Perth Amboy Green Team, and Perth Amboy Library Trustees, students, and youth ministry organizations. Thank you to all for your efforts in keeping our city beautiful and clean.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Historic Perth Amboy Train Station, April 21st

Today, we broke ground together, marking a milestone in Perth Amboy’s history on the renovations to our historic Perth Amboy train station, built-in 1927. The upgrades will make this station fully accessible with high-level platforms, elevators, and ramps, in addition to other upgrades. I want to thank Governor Phil Murphy, our legislators, NJ Transit, and previous administrations for their advocacy and commitment to making today possible. Perth Amboy is a vital transportation hub connecting New York to our NJ shore beaches. This much-needed project aligns itself with our great state’s commitment to our residents in improving accessibility and enhancing the experience of commuters.

LEAF Red Gala Scholarship Award Program, April 30th
