DEP Receives $72 Million from NOAA for Climate Resilience Projects Across NJ Counties

(24/P030) TRENTON – Lt. Governor Tahesha Way and Environmental Protection Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette joined U.S. Department of Commerce and NOAA officials, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, and other dignitaries in Perth Amboy today to announce a $72 million federal grant for critical climate resilience projects under the Department of Environmental Protection’s Building a Climate Ready NJ initiative.

The grant, part of NOAA’s $575 million Climate Resilience Regional Challenge, will fund projects to enhance resilience in New Jersey’s most densely developed municipalities and overburdened communities, supporting education, workforce training, and comprehensive climate resilience planning.
